American Express is allowing credit card users the ability to pay their US state and federal taxes with their rewards points.
The cash value will be based at 200 points for every dollar. Which equals one half cent per point. Consumers that have enough points to pay off all of the taxes will have the ability to do so.
The program will be available through 2 vendors pay1040 and official payments Corp. Prior to this year Amex only allowed tax filers to use points on fees charged by the online payment services.
