What Is the Imagine Visa?

The Imagine Visa is a credit card issued by WebBank pursuant to a license from Visa Inc. Some consumers encounter the card through a mailed prequalified offer that includes an acceptance code and instructions for completing the application process.

A prequalified offer is based on information from a prescreening process. It is not the same thing as final approval. The application still has to go through the issuer's eligibility and approval process.

The most useful way to evaluate an Imagine offer is to look at the actual terms attached to that particular offer rather than assuming that every Imagine account has identical pricing or starting limits.

Imagine Visa Prequalified Mail Offers

A mailed Imagine offer can contain several pieces of information that are important before you apply, including an acceptance code, offer expiration date, advertised credit limit and instructions for accepting the offer.

The acceptance code is associated with the specific mailed offer. It should be entered exactly as instructed when accepting the offer online or through the method provided in the mailer.

Keep the original offer available while completing the process so you can compare the information on the application with the terms presented in the mailer.

Prequalification vs. Approval

One of the most important distinctions when reviewing an Imagine mail offer is the difference between being prequalified and being approved.

A prequalified offer means that you were selected based on information used in a prescreening process. It does not mean that the account has already been approved or that the advertised credit limit will necessarily be assigned to you.

The final application is subject to the issuer's eligibility requirements and review.

Imagine Visa Credit Limit

The Imagine mail offer advertises a credit limit of up to $2,000. The phrase "up to" is important because the advertised maximum is not a promise that every applicant will receive that amount.

The November 2025 Pricing Information Addendum lists examples of initial credit limits of $400, $500, $700 and $1,000. The specific credit limit offered to an applicant can depend on the terms of that person's offer.

Example Initial Limit Example First-Year Annual Fee Approximate Available Credit After Fee
$1,000 $175 $825
$700 $175 $525
$500 $125 $375
$400 $99 $301

These are examples from the November 2025 pricing information and are not a statement that every Imagine applicant receives one of these limits or fees.

Credit Limit Increases and Account Reviews

Your starting credit limit is not necessarily the permanent limit on the account. An issuer may review an account over time and determine whether a different credit limit is appropriate.

There is no published guarantee that an Imagine account will receive a credit limit increase or a specific increase after a particular amount of time. Payment history, balances, account history and information available to the issuer can all be relevant to future account decisions, but there is no published formula that guarantees an increase.

Imagine Visa Fees and Costs

The Imagine Visa mail offer may advertise a $0 application fee and $0 security deposit. Those statements do not mean the card has no other fees.

The November 2025 Pricing Information Addendum lists several possible charges, including an annual fee, account maintenance fee, balance transfer fee, cash advance fee, foreign transaction fee, late payment fee, returned payment fee and paper statement fee.

The actual fees that apply to an account depend on the specific offer and account terms. Review your pricing information before accepting an offer.

Annual Fee

The November 2025 pricing information lists different first-year annual fees based on the initial credit limit. After the first year, the listed annual fee is $49 for the examples provided.

The annual fee is assessed before the card is used under the pricing information provided, which means the fee can reduce the amount of available credit at the beginning of the account.

Read the Imagine Visa Annual Fee guide

Account Maintenance Fee

The pricing information lists an account maintenance fee of $180 per year, billed as $15 per month. The listed account maintenance fee is not charged during the first 12 months the account is open.

This fee is separate from the annual fee, so it is important to consider both when reviewing the total cost of an offer.

Imagine Visa APR and Interest

The November 2025 Pricing Information Addendum lists a 36% APR for purchases, balance transfers and cash advances. It also states that there is no penalty APR listed in the pricing information.

The agreement provides a grace period for purchases when the requirements for avoiding purchase interest are met. Cash advances and balance transfers do not have the same grace period.

$0 Application Fee and $0 Security Deposit

Credit Bureau Reporting

Current Imagine materials state that payments are reported monthly to major credit bureaus. The Cardholder Agreement also explains that WebBank may report account information and that late payments, missed payments and other defaults may be reflected in a credit report.

Credit reporting can make the account relevant to someone working on a credit history, but reporting an account does not guarantee a particular change in a credit score.
